Admission Requirements for MAUTECH Postgraduate Programs
Whether you’re aiming for a Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, or PhD, MAUTECH has specific requirements based on your previous qualifications:
Postgraduate Diploma:
- Graduates of MAU Yola or any other recognized institution with at least a Third-Class Degree in relevant fields.
- Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a Lower Credit (GPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale) in relevant disciplines.
- Candidates with other professional qualifications accepted by the School of Postgraduate Studies and the University Senate.
- In some cases, candidates may be required to pass department or school-administered tests or exams.
Master’s Degree:
- First-degree holders from MAU Yola or recognized universities with at least a Second Class Honours in relevant subjects.
- Candidates with a Third-Class Honours degree or an HND (Lower Credit, GPA of 3.50) may qualify if they:
- Hold a relevant Postgraduate Diploma (Lower Credit, GPA of 3.50) or
- Pass any qualifying exams prescribed for admission.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
- Applicants must have a Master’s Degree from MAU Yola with a GPA of 3.50 (on a 5-point scale) or at least 60%.
- Candidates from other recognized institutions with equivalent qualifications are also eligible.
General Admission Requirements:
- Applicants must have passed at least five relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, at the Credit level.
- Some departments may require candidates to pass a qualifying examination before registration or at a suitable stage during their program.
Duration of MAUTECH Postgraduate Programs
- Postgraduate Diploma (Full-Time): 2 semesters (12 months)
- Master’s Degree (Full-Time): 3 semesters minimum (18 months) and a maximum of 6 semesters (36 months)
- PhD Program (Full-Time): 6 semesters minimum (36 months) and a maximum of 10 semesters (60 months)
Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for MAUTECH Postgraduate Programs
Follow these steps to successfully apply for your desired postgraduate program at MAUTECH:
- Visit the official SPGS MAUTECH portal at https://pgmau.admissions.cloud.
- Create a Candidate Account by registering on the portal.
- Obtain an application PIN for ₦15,000 using your email or phone number provided during account creation.
- Log in to your Candidate Account, complete the online application form for your program, and review it carefully before submitting.
- Print two copies of your completed application form.
- Send duplicate copies of all required documents to the specified address.
- Submit a Transcript Request Form to your previous institutions and ensure that your transcripts are sent directly to “The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola.” Applications without transcripts will not be processed.
